It's all data, so yeah why not. So how about a moratorium from the usual crowd.....no calls for ABX etc, just let the (possibly flawed) observations flow and then maybe explanations can be derived. Noteworthy is current thread on Ethernet Switch mods......first two posts are quoting subjective experience and by the third post there is strenuous exclamation that these observations are not possible.

Non earthed plug pack SMPS longitudinal leakage is likely the reason for the examples quoted in the first two posts......this is the first point to investigate but this does not cross the minds of the auto naysayers.

So Bob, I am for hearing and investigating your findings, perhaps open minds can find explanations.
While we are at it why not take a closer look at all the information regarding BQP that is available and there is much, perhaps the truth can be gleaned from the peppercorns dropped along the way.

Well I’ll toss it out there bit by bit and see what happens.

Speaker wire.....

I’ve found it does indeed make a difference but not because you need the latest greatest most expensive boo-teek wire.........it’s more about the LCR and matching. Your all gonna say the measureable differences are to small to make a difference but I’ll go to the mat saying it does.

Materials matter also but I never got to compare different wire that had the same LCR measurements so I can’t really say for sure.

In a nutshell the people that find so much difference in high dollar cables is most likely due to finding a good match for their system......a match which could be had for much less $$ with a little experimentation. But hey if you have the money and you just have to have the leopard skin sheathed wire with fossilized amber and quintuple 9 fine terminations then who am I to judge. :p

Edit.....oh yah (your gonna love this one) I found that disturbing the system in any way such as changing of speaker wire did indeed ‘upset’ the system. It usually took anywhere from 30-90 min to settle.....sometimes a little longer. And it’s not wiping off oxidation......it never really had time.

I don't see the art in this stuff perhaps I chose the wrong albums, please enlighten me/us on what is the 'good stuff' ?

Drone music as a meditative experience has been around forever, for instance, gurus chanting Om Om Om Shanti accompanied by cords on a Harmonium to their followers for 60 or 90 min. on end.

BTW groups going to Mexico to do drugs was presented as far back as 1959 on network TV. A search of youtube on One Step Beyond should still find it. AFAIK it was removed from the series archives and recently found.

We have Mantras playing over breakfast at home. This YouTube is the current version, but we have 4 or 5 different recordings of this depending on mood.

This however is some western take on it and does not have the same effect for me personally. YouTube

OTOH do have some mantras recorded by a German woman which are rather nice once you get over the OTT use of echo.

First, how do you know we are not listening?

Second, if you listen and find something, do you want to understand why or it is not the case and you tend to believe what you read in popular magazines? I am in the camp of those who want to know "why", because it is the only way how not to go on a trial/error path and not knowing why there is an error. And to know why means you have to study first and and then to make an experiment and to measure. The idea that a circuit designer is something like a painter and that electronics is similar to art is wrong from the beginning.

BTW, we may differ whom we consider to be a Troll.
The incandescent light bulb, triode and JC’s wall clock come to mind. Trial and error for the initial discovery.

I had to change out a SMD resistor just day before yesterday to a RN65 Dale type because the SMD just sounded too smile curve-like. To verify that difference in sound between the two using test and measurement would have been really hard if not impossible.

I have listened to drone based music for most of my adult life, and it looks like I will be getting Eliane Radigue’s boxed set of ARP2500 compositions as a birthday present - that’s 14 hours worth of drones - oh, lucky lucky me. What I like immensely about her work is it is a conduit from her own world of human experience. It has taken all her life to get there.

There is a lot of commercial drone based trance music out there that I don’t like because it is derivative of drug induced experiences, and sounds phoney to me. I prefer the long road.

You are never alone with a drone.

I listen to music to transport myself somewhere. To escape from the tedium of everday life, to reward myself after a long day. And a few other things not to be discussed on an open forum. Let's just say the combined love of music is what bought my wife and I together despite everything else.

....Mate, with the greatest of respect, you are so far out there, if you took any of this stuff you'd fall off the planet.
You have revealed yourself as a 'flat earther', logic rules one cannot 'fall off the planet' which is a sphere.
Well, Max you don’t believe Einstein formulated General Relativity.....

That is not my belief and I have said nothing of the sort.
I did suggest to read the Conclusion of one article for the reason of the philosophical points raised, and I did refer to a second paper for a interesting lesson in history.
Andrew, for you to state both the quotes above is against forum Rule #1 as I understand it, and I would very much like you to apologise.
