There is no use to discuss with Dan. He is a charlatan, there is no meaningful discussion with charlatans.
Don't you believe it is something you can think, but not publish on a public forum about another member ?
Especially since I am convinced that he is convinced of what he thinks he has found.
You will tell me that it makes two convinced for one man, which made a lot, and you will be right ;-)

We seem to have slipping into possibly overusing the term solipsism. It is not a norm that applies to the majority of people.

Definition of solipsism. : a theory holding that the self can know nothing but its own modifications and that the self is the only existent thing. Also : extreme egocentrism.
When I see the results of some political elections all over the world, I am not sure that the majority is not a pure product of my imagination. (smiley here)
Are you sure he even exists? He might just be a cartoon character
Behind cartoon characters can be hidden an author with a tender and sensitive heart.

Well here we have it Dan. PMA has finally told you what he thinks of you. I know that you are earnest, but many hard core types will find serious fault in you. Is it really worth it? I guess I do the same thing, that is the problem. '-)
T, I was not trying to put you on the defensive by commenting about your admitted lack of extended frequency response, but I know something about speakers and what lack of a tweeter sounds like, as I am listening to my Met 7's right now and usually do, most of the time. I don't want to listen to that extended program garbage either! BUT when I do serious hi fi evaluations, I MUST use the most sensitive reproducers to make any judgements, or else everything electronic will sound pretty much the same.
Markw4, keep on truckin'. You are on to something important here, you have invested enough into your system (with some potential problems) to hear the differences that you seek. Just don't hold back on your findings, especially what we can improve in digital reproduction as far as engineering is concerned. We need that input!
PMA you are a GOOD ENGINEER! You have proven yourself both competent and hard working. I thank you for helping me over the years with your measurements, and even finding problems in my equipment that went unnoticed until you found them.
However, your lack of feedback from your peers has made you think that that you can judge others also in audio design. You can't because you have not reached out to do the best that can be done in audio design, and so you will never get to a place where the world will acknowledge you as a great audio designer. You have given up too early, and are too satisfied in your opinion to do so. My recommendation is to keep your mind open more, along with your excellent engineering skills.

An unprovable claim. We can't peer inside his head to see his motivation.
In your opinion, of course.

Human animals can believe all sorts of things, and it is well known they can jump to conclusions about cause and effect.
As mentioned before on dog dropping on the sidewalk example, there are many things that do not need peering inside someone's head to see the motivation. If that is truly what's required to figure out, the occupation of crime detecting wouldn't have existed in human society.

Is this a psychiatric textbook?
On one hand you admit him helping "the Legendary JC" and on the other you judge him for not having the pure luck you had to be at the forefront of high end industry just because you were born in the right spot at the right time!

In the Eastern part of Europe everything was much harder than in the USA at the time you were on the wave.He was probably a child when Russia invaded his country. We couldn't be able to buy a f...2n3055 in this part of the world until the 90's...

Audio has been a hobby for me. I did not make a living with audio. Yes I graduated in electroacoustics, but never it was my profession. That's the difference, JC. In the Eastern block, it did not make sense to be involved in audio. Last 20 years, I made a living as a designer and consultant in the field of plasma spraying, JC, and have collaborated with a company based in California. Close to your domicile, JC.

Dan was more fun when he talked about gooping the world with a universal good vibe.

Is it edible? Maybe drizzled over one of these Trappist Abbey Monastery Fruitcake 1 lb.: Amazon.com: Grocery & Gourmet Food

Heavenly chefs in the kitchens of Our Lady of Guadalupe Abbey are the master makers of this rich, moist dark fruitcake. Made in small batches to ensure quality, Trappist Monks carefully prepare monastery fruitcake using fresh nuts, dried fruits, dairy butter and spices, then age each loaf in 120 proof brandy. These cakes are the ultimate holiday tradition! Layfayette, Oregon. Net wt. 1 lb. 3.25" wide x 2.5" tall x 3.25" deep.

Don't worry, John. We (probably) both have losses some of our hearing ability, our wild beauty that made all girls crack on, and our ease to live without a penny. Time is a cruel friend, we can understand each other ;-)

I was just trying to understand and explain to myself some strange psycho acoustic phenomena that i discovered in this misfortune.

In fact, I dislike most of the tweeters (and always did). Apart ribbon ones. And specially soft domes, that produce what i feel like some kind of a white noise modulated by the music signals, with no dynamic.
Thinking to it, I realize that this is 'probably' due to the fact that they 'probably' fractionnate in their audible range. Probably. It is not obvious, looking at their impedance curve, because the weight of the coil hide the dynamic inertia of the membrane ? What do you think ?

In a way. But the products were not on the top, and were loosing in competition. Especially with fast growth of microelectronics in the West.

You were in electroacustics so i thought you'd be more interested in transducers.Neumann was the only professional company trapped in the Eastern block, EastGermany.I think Tesla did a very good job for its resources though.
