Those Von Schweikert Ultra 11 are very pricey, yes. But are also DIYable 'coz
you can cut one in half, add just one tweeter, rework ( just a little :p) the crossover and you have two pairs for just 300 k$.
Bargain.

...and, whazzat ? Marantz SR 1000...old STK amplifier module inside, 20 W pc
...You win !

As is usually the case, it comes down to money. How much can your realistically spend for a pair of speakers and do you have any unusual issues to deal with, ie. very small room, very large room, need to play loud, going to use out doors... and so forth. Give us an idea about your listening realities and priorities. Also, where are you located?

Yes,
I’m green, just want that old thumping rock and roll feel like the old days without breaking the bank. Just two speakers no cutting in half. Prefabricated awesome sounding speakers!

Assuming you don't want to spend too big but need good sized speakers for that thump factor. Good option is to buy a used pair of floorstanders (aka tower speakers), look and listen before you buy. Or check out some of the deals on new floorstanders on the 'net.

Search up these:

Klipsch RP-260F Floorstanding Speaker (and it's siblings)
JBL Studio 280 Floor Standing

Heck, just go to your nearest Best Buy if you are in North America.

I did just that!
I used hivi ribbon, two dayton domes (removed face plates and placed them as close as possible), used two 6" dayton midbasses, and one 15" jamo woofer.

Active crossover at 150 hz, passive from midbass up, biamp with four lm3886 chipmunks, sounds great, considering its in small room (its a messy soldering room).
