Bob cordell speaks about its application in buffer as possible but any cons in using it? I feel it has the least Ciss.Read R.Cordell.
due to wimpy xconductance , it'll have output impedance on highish side , at least comparing to it's LSK170 cousin
compare xconductances , translate that inversely to impedance ratio
compare xconductances , translate that inversely to impedance ratio
so the min output impedance said by Nelson is 100ohms at best and some say it goes till 1k so if you take the ratio of Gfs between the 2sk170 / LSK489 which is 22mS / 1.5ms which is 14.66 so the best output imp would be 1466 ohms and worst being 14.6k? so LSK489 unfit for B1 buffer?
any suggestions or replies please.. can I still manage with the LSK489? I like its capacitance very low value hence considerably linear than SK170?
I see Papa speaking of LSK489 but couldn`t remember for which one.

considering that Papa put fool-proof part on output of B1 - 1K resistor , consider that you can make buffer with them , without any consequence
just decrease that resistor to , say, 47 ohms and enjoy

what if the B1 is direct coupled like DCB1? in that case?

what about transconductance as its lower for the lsk489 compared to 2sk170 will that affect the perf?

....... counting on fact that you don't need driving capability of 2SK170
judging by xconductance , they're even better than 2SK170
choose them in range of 8-12mA Idss , keep an eye on dissipation in circuit and you're good
