Help building subwoofer enclosure.

I want to build an enclosure for this sub Jbl GTO1014(Ik is cheap but is my first build). I would be using the yung SD300 sub plate amp no boost. I was working on WinISD to design it and I came up with 1.25cubic feet box tuned too 25hz. BUT is that 1.25cubic feet total or not including port and driver displacement? Also need help on making the L port. If anyone can tell me anything on how big to make the enclosure etc. I would appreciate the help. Btw sub is going to be used for hearing bass heavy music ,EDM.
 
1.25 cuft is a rather small cabinet for this driver, at this tuning frequency.

3 cuft ported to 25Hz will give a fairly flat response down low. If you want a really small box, you need a sealed box, EQ, and a lot of power. You'll lose raw SPL against the ported box, but at least you can keep the cabinet small.

Nonsense. 1.25cuft is fine for a 1 cuft Vas driver.
3 cuft is nonsense and 1.5cuft is the maximum.

Sealed would be about 0.75cuft well stuffed.

Box volume is internal volume + driver volume+ port volume.

25Hz tuning is ambitious, 31Hz (low B) more practical.

For music a flared 2" minimum diameter port should work.

No one WANTS a large box, it is just physics.. A car driver requires between 20-25% more volume if used in a home instead of a car. You are more than welcome to build a box based on cabin gain and put it in your house but you will be greatly disappointed unless you have eq and lots of power. Chris didn't make up a rule, he cited well established norms. Sorry if it's not what you wanted to hear..

No, Chris is citing simplistic opinion, not well informed fact.

Its simply the wrong driver for a 3cuft vented box, Vas is 1cuft.

Non standard alignments are not a disaster, just not standard.

A vented box of 1.5cuft internal dimensions will be fine.
Reality will be the box is less due to the port and driver.

I'm getting radically different graphs with WinISD and Hornresp, using the published T/S parameters. Here's a screenshot of WinISD Pro. The green trace is your suggested ported box, the blue one is mine (75L tuned to 25Hz).

According to my spec sheet, Vas=~2 cuft.

Perhaps there's more than one version out there?

Turns out I was looking at the 12" version. I'll leave this up for posterity, or something...

According to the sim, optimized box is 45L with Fb=25Hz. I'm not comfortable with box volume > Vas, that's why I decided to load it in a 25L. There's a bit of a hump but that's really a small sacrifice.

The T/S are correct. For box sim, only 4 parameters are required. Vas, Fs, Qes and Qts.

You may want to consider a bandpass too. Only 24L. A bit tight but should be possible.
