With biamping, probably some flexibility in the filter, depending on where it's going to be. Sounds like it could be a plan though. 🙂
might even make a good home for the MAOP7
with a MAOP 12W .. that wd be something
with a MAOP 12W .. that wd be something
Well, I don't know that Team Mark has plans for a renewed version of 12 in the metal required for the MAOP process, but if feasible that could be stupidly good, albeit edging on stratospheric pricing for all 6 drivers. 😱
Scott,
Ok, I see your point.
Is the design dependant of the given dimensions, or could one alter them as long as you keep the same internal volume/tuning?
Thanks,
Cbarth

I'm thinking- don't change the internal height or placement of port in lower section too much , else wise unintentional and untuned QW action might occur.
Also, CtC spacing of drivers should be retained
Other than than- go to town😀

The missing dimension in Ewans's drawing is 762mm
Your drawing is missing the port diameter.

There is a small amount of latitude in the dimensions providing the volumes & tunings are held constant. Centre-to-centre spacing between the drivers should also be held as-is. Major shifts in width etc. should be avoided without accounting for them in the filter.
If the funds were available- i would be building right now.
I have a buddy in HK who could bring me over some 7p's, and I have some 12p's in an existing enclosures.
Would there be any hideous down fall to putting these two together untill funds allow a set of 12pw's?
any thoughts much appreciated.

Many thanks Dave. Nice plan drawing. Pic added to PDF plan - thanks
Mark.
please give me the crossover freq.
please give me the crossover freq.
I'm by no means an XO guru, but wouldn't the component values shown on schematic give you that?
FWIW, I'd imagine at starting point for this combination could be anywhere from 200 - 300Hz? - Obviously a lot easier to experiment with the values using active such as mini-dsp, etc.
Mark hinted at a new dealer soon, I want a pair to play with, but the 7's come in carton of 12 pairs (24 drivers) which is about 22 more than I need.
Uk Group Buy?
Uk Group Buy?
That may not be a bad idea? We would only need 12 people! Could work out cheaper than buying from a distributor too? What qty would the new 12pw's have to be ordered in?

I would want at least x2 pairs of the 7's and perhaps 2-4 pairs of woof's.
12PW's in cartons of 8. We may have missed the boat on the latest dispatch of small orders, but perhaps still have time. Ill start a new thread.
That is provided mark doesn't have any objections?
I guessing those that want pair of A7's would want at least a pair of the 12PW's?
Would people mind paying up-front, or is their another option that is safe for all?
