Is there a list of companies which must not be named? It might be useful to know ahead of time which entities have Voldemort status.
As far as I know, there's only one guy who tried to pull an underhanded legal maneuver here.
Speaking of appalling stadium sound, I was watching a bit of the 'official' broadcast of the World Cup opening in Brazil, when the boys and girls were doing their singsong part - if the song was anything recognisable I wouldn't have a clue what it was, a vague, echoey murkiness that was probably picked up by a mic somewhere in the stands. However when you can walk into a 15,000 seat live show and, at will, surreptitiously effect/transform the stadium sound, then that's real fun on a whole different level .
And this is 2014 ...
Ok, 2013, I was talking about high level world touring acts, that I have backline and FOH acess to 😉... when the singer of a big show (GNR) comments by the fourth song over the PA 'that's the best sound Iv'e ever had' I choose to think that he being was perfectly serious....an ultimate DBT test actually.Speaking of appalling stadium sound, I was watching a bit of the 'official' broadcast of the World Cup opening in Brazil, when the boys and girls were doing their singsong part - if the song was anything recognisable I wouldn't have a clue what it was, a vague, echoey murkiness that was probably picked up by a mic somewhere in the stands.

I haven't seen/heard any of the world cup soccer.
I do find that the F1 car stuff audio is bloody good nowadays.

What is ABX DBT actually testing .....the accuity of the system, or the accuity of the listener/participants......actually it's both.
The skill level of the participants needs to be noted, as does training time for such tests findings to be properly valid.
Sighted/extended testing is still valid.

No problem here , must be those PC Speakers ..... 🙂

We are talking Visual Acuity here, yes.
😀
I noted in another playback much better sound, so probably varied per broadcaster, choices made as to where the audio was picked up - trying to pick up the ambience as well only points out how bloody awful stadium sound usually is ...No problem here , must be those PC Speakers ..... 🙂
BTW, notice that our boys did OK - we lost, but we had the Chileans pretty scared, it could have easily ended as a draw, 🙂.

Glad your team made it; our golden boy running qualification rosters chases away talent at all levels.
He seems threatened by competence.
Still angry he squandered and cut Hargreaves prime time until he gave up and played for England.
I noticed audio quality varied between different broadcasters too.
After burn
Just finished shopping for some rca sockets on the online site which rhymes with ixnay.
The Chinese are greasing up tellurium copper shields to improve large Bybee quantum purifiers.
I guess now they'll keep doing whatever they do after a large coronal mass ejection hits and wipes out all our electrical grid and goodies.
Wonder if they have permission ?😕

Actually, if these are really Bybee devices inside, the metal end-caps will give substantially more shielding than is obvious.
Not a brilliant idea
This idea is from a joke site that claims even more improvement of this joke device by wrapping ERS round it and putting it in a copper tube.
Personally the Bybee device is the pinnacle example of the BS side of audio system improvements along with a few other magical components and beliefs mentioned on this thread. They give audiophilia a bad name and distract people from real area's where sound improvement can be found.

As a point of interest/very personal question, have you ever personally trialled/measured any BQP products in any way ?.
If so, please enlighten us with your experiences.
On this forum, and in the industry, pretty much all audio problems have been well worked out and well addressed, down to the -100 dB level, which according to standard theory out to provide exemplary sound reproduction.
So, how come there is such variance in system sounds ????...that was a rhetorical question actually.
When EMI techniques are conformed to/and confirmed , there is still a final sound element/character that remains, and according to the actual system.
BQP and other products seek to address wrong sound characteristics, and by different means.

TV dinner?
I was reading the BQP white paper 😀 on a website when I clicked on different products: Teflon caps.
Here are the pros of the product itself:
X capacitors are pre-cooked to minimise the multi-hundred hour break in period typically associated with Teflon capacitors.
State of the art engineering
Pre-cooked to reduce burn in time
Extreme reliability
Joyful sound
I like the pre-cooked mention.
Anyway, the more I read about snake oil theories the more I think the title should be: saddest snake oil theories.
It's depressing. Does not make me laugh anymore
The sad website is here Soundlabs Group: Capacitors - Teflon
Serge.

Pre cooked time is very, very, important. also if in microwave or gas oven , electric ovens reverse molecule structure and destroys the ballistics ..
😛

Not worth the effort, many threads show its basically just a resistor and I would not consider even looking at a component with no data or information available regarding it.
Sorry I prefer real components with data sheets, not quantum BS marketing and claims that defy the laws of physics.
If it really worked as claimed it would be present in the real world of electronics. Just the claim of speeding up electron flow was enough to put me off.
But I await your measurements with baited breath...🙂

Glad to understand your preconceived POV.Not worth the effort, many threads show its basically just a resistor and I would not consider even looking at a component with no data or information available regarding it.

Well, at my home, I use Bybee Quantum purifiers. I also keep the temperature at +2 deg K. My wife complains it's too cold. I can't hear very well because my ear drums are frozen.
If ever any real data is presented regarding these devices and their claims I would change my view, but I don't think that is going to happen soon.
Every conceivable opinion on these items has been covered on both this and other threads to the extent that any further coverage is pure repetition.
What would be welcome is some sensible coverage of thread topic; pre-amplifier design!
There is so much general noise and distortion here that it is impossible to follow the thread. The unfortunate part of this is that every so often an off topic point is made which deserves a thread of its own, but instead it gets lost in the general hash.

The thread topic is, appropriately, "snake oil." How is discussion of that particular fraud off topic?
