that one is great 😉
I'm finding Long Way Round and Long Way Down pretty amusing
though , this one is certainly one of worst movies , having any link to mcycles : Knightriders (1981) - IMDb

My local Bonneville old-timer says the film depicts the event the way it was. I guess some viewers need ubercinema; the way things are just won't do.

I agree.
Another somewhat inspiring movie also based on a true story is "The Astronaut Farmer".
Another great flick, right on!
should we write here list of nice movies about mcycles/riders ?
Why not!
Aussies my **** - New Zealand!
Aussie / New Zealander its all the same. I'm sure the Americans on the forum won't mind us calling them Canadians, and the Canadians Americans since they are right next door to each other like New Zealand is to Australia 😀

You know what truly methinks ....
Quiz question (sorry for the small interlude): 'The Great Escape' (the film); a true American story?

I just want to say Anthony Hopkins did not capture Burt Monro's character. Burt was a real deal blue collar Kinda guy, Anthony Hopkins does not have a clue of that kind of life style. Burt worked with what ever he could get his hands on, Anthony Hopkins is spoon fed. I liked the movie but I think they should've pulled some old farmer/Machinist out of a shop somewhere and had him play Burt.
Sorry but I have to disagree with you, for someone like Anthony Hopkins to play a part like that I think he really nailed it. He really pulled off the part of an Aussie batler (sorry New Zealanders I don't know your own term for that, Kiwi batler?).
Both Australia and New Zealand share a history of doing it tough because we both haven't had access to things because of distance and have had to sometimes make our own. Australia has a long list of inventions too (unfortunately sold way too many of them).
But the part played was very typical of the real deal. Being a bit eccentric doesn't mean Burt was loud or showy, so I think the part was well played.
I'm being nice to you by acting evasive every time she asks me, "And who, specifically, recommended this movie?"
Tell her "the one who put the bait on the hook"
I'd much rather watch this movie with all its faults than the same tired old Hollywood clap-trap.
It was pure Hollywood claptrap.
While this motion picture is based upon historical events, certain characters names have been changed, some main characters are composites or invented and a number of incidents fictionalized.
For you and wifey Stuart. Hey you can camp the sofa😉

For me, there's The Wild One, Easy Rider, and of course the classic Faster Pussycat, Kill, Kill! I'm surprised that the last one didn't make the Wikipedia list- John Waters (one of my favorite directors) named it as his most influential film.
