Let it ride, John. They're getting off by showing their "professional" side, leering at something they're not interested in trying to understand better. They need their dose of daily fun, like the Dutch dude does in spades ...
We ask numerous times for some indication of what these mysterious devices are, and numerous time I point out that these are only available via Audiophile based suppliers and not through mainstream electronics supplies...
WHY?

marce -

If you hope to get an answer in the next 5 minutes, I'm betting you'll be a bit disappointed.

Frank - I've met a few members here and I have to say that's a very unfair statement right there.

And I'm trying to figure out how much these tweaks have advanced the real science over these years. Many of these oddball tweaks have been around for a long time and they've advanced great discovery how? These oddball tweaks continue to sell but there has been no great discovery as to some physical cause that turns the audio world upside down with some new great discovery.

My guess is that with the close of shop or death of the great tweak inventors, this stuff just disappears from this Earth. While we go on fondly reading about Baxandall, etc.

This stuff is reminiscent of those ads back in the 70's in mags like Popular Science of the revolutionary add on device to your car that will save you $$$ and extend gas mileage by 30% or more!!!

It was often followed with the blurb like "what Big Gas doesn't want you to find out!". Many of these audio tweaks have the same smell.

😉

The crazy thing about capitalism is that there is that drive to cut costs as well and push those profits, find more markets for a device in order to up the $$$$$. These are huge forces at work!

But....the tweaker seller is just happy to keep those secrets amongst all of us audio fanboys and fangirls. 😀 No need at all to share with the rest of the world and then have to worry about all the cash their banking. Nope, true altruism in action here, folks. They do it just for us!

How about some non capitalistic market forces? Now car companies and the EPA with the funny people who say carbon dioxide is a pollutant are doing something similar with cars with small turbo engines and electric cars - they are getting mileage estimates about 15% higher than any real world driver would with the same car because of unrealistic mileage estimate driving regimens.

I'm willing to accept that they do indeed make a difference.
but prove it and sell your idea, I'd bet that there are other fields that would line up.
meanwhile, in my system that qualifies (price wise) in JC's category of "Quantum Purifier ready", I don't hear differences between cables. of course, other people decided in other threads that I'm "musically deaf", so there's an explanation.
