The finger tip test is a good way of telling whether a soggy diaphragm will react fast enough. A taut sound with decent sustain will usually sound musical when in normal use.🙂
Always found that Lowther drivers were too soggy until a couple of coats of thin shellac had been applied; front and back, - and then they came alive.😉
