This great little video has really increased my respect for the 'tube' - I gotta get some tubes into my life!

Enjoyed it, no matter who posted first. Didn't see first post.
No wonder the things cost so *#)$)*( much.
Doc
Wish I could afford even 1 of those tubes. I guess we can say thats not a tube FACTORY?
Cheers,
Bob
That's a lousy promotional video for some crappy "hand made Audiophile" tubes.
If you want a video on how vacuum tubes are made, you can do better.
for example:
Mullard - The Blackburn Vacuum Tubes Factory (Full) - YouTube
or http://paillard.claude.free.fr/
I wish there were better videos, I'm sure they were made. They're probably lying in film cans in an archive somewhere.

I did ? I don't remember
found it (the previous post). Nothing personal against KR, I just find the video annoying.
Some part of that video is just bad. e.g. their description of the getter flashing process.
Well don´t look at it then!

Makes for good video. Still, it would be fun to see old footage of a factory like Mullard that was making millions a year.
Its already here this thread post #7...its the full Mullard factory..if you spool through it you get to the making of the tubes (automation is brilliant) I thought it was very good..

Yes, very interesting video.
What struck me the most is how long ago England used to make stuff, stuff that China is making again today. So much of a better business environment in China.

I think it was 6000 workers in the factory at the time...look how much we lost with the transistor..LOL

It is worth looking, while commentary sounds silly. Tube amplifies because voltage between anode and cathode is higher than signal! Eureka! Just mute the speaker.
I found it interesting,
If you look at the machinery the amount of adjustments on the M/C's that must have needed maintenance..
The pin forming on the base all bent to the correct angle for the connections..
Then again the woman with the tweezers welding the cage to the base..imagine doing that for an eight hour night shift..
