I will have to build something that looks like this. I did buy a pair of light fixtures last summer at a garage sale of which the bases look darn near identical to this. I planned to use them in a room in the house here, but... Let's see, house project vs. tube amp. I wonder what will happen.
Could you post the schematic of these?

UFO!
RH84 stuffed into a light fixture.
Changes - 6V6, 5Y3
Telefunken 5k OPt's
Sounds out of this world, no pun intended.
Neat. That needs a clear bell jar cover like on an old mantle clock.
It's basically a RH84 - http://www.tubeaudio.8m.com/RH84/rh84.html
The changes are 6V6 instead of EL84. (I'm using a 330ohm cathode resistor instead of the 270ohm in the schematic. My power transformer has a little higher voltage then called for.)
12AT7 also has been upped to 270ohm from 250.
Also the power supply in mine is a 5Y3 with a 22u-1.5H-80u pi filter. The schematic is using a 5U4 with a bigger choke and more capacitance. I just did what seemed "safe" with the Duncan's PSUD. I wanted to add more capacitance, but was getting warnings using the 5Y3. Sounds fine though.
I get a very small amount of hum, either from the OPT's being close to the PT, or because I'm not using much filtering. It is very tolerable though, I can only hear it with very sensitive speakers and nothing playing.
Yes I do need to find some glass for it!

Hi! My first step in tube sound =)
This is 6N6P SRPP headphone amp. I made delay of anode voltage feed and anode voltage stabilizer.
Thanks to Wawebourn for help! =)

Worked quite a while on the chassis and the modular way it is built up. Had some people at my place and they all liked the way I 'screwed' this amp together (hardly any solder). I am preparing some better pictures and explanation for a separate thread.
The amp is based on this design by Michael Koster.

And another amp, also based on a design by Michael Koster. I did, however, implement a splitting trafo (LL1540) at the input so it is push pull. Gyrators load the ECC88 triodes and provide biasing from a low source for the 6W6GT triode-wired output tubes.
The green blocks are slighlty modified PCB terminal blocks: they make excellent connecting points as the 'cage' construction does not damage the components: a major problem with my prior experiments: the Borg Collective.

OddWatt
My first build and takeoff on the PoddWatt amplifier design which I paired with bookshelfs based on the Overnight Sensations. The sound is quite remarkable. I'm driving the audio from my Popcorn Hour NMT.
Lots of fun designing this package and challenges cutting aluminum on my homemade CNC for the first time.
My blog is here Tube Type Stereo Amp for anyone who takes an interest
The OddShape of this amp is borrowed from the tail end of a Fender Telecaster.

Interesting visual concept. Reminds me of this movie poster.
