Thanks Cal! Hopefully he shows up :) I don't know who he is though! LOL!

Uhhhh....... be careful what you wish for!!! :tilt::joker::rofl::rofl::rofl:

Actually - TO is one of the very best in your area to learn some serious stuff from in regards to single driver set ups and you are in for a treat. Well - in regards to the single driver speakers that is. ;)

That being said - if he asks you about hunting sea bats or snipes - uh - RUN!!!

Ok so this may not be the right venue to ask this but since there's so many people viewing this thread from the NW I thought it'd be worth a shot ...

I've never heard any single driver setups. It seems from looking around the Full Range Driver area that there are a lot of single driver enthusiasts here in the greater NW. If any of you live in the greater Seattle area and wouldn't mind a fellow enthusiast come by for his first single driver experience, PM me. I'd love to come experience what its all about.

If this is totally the wrong area to ask just let me know where a more appropriate area would be.

Thanks!

Scott

Hi Scott,

I don't know if you'd be interested, but the Pacific Northwest Audio Society (PNWAS) is having several of the contestants from "The Puget Sound! DIY Speaker Contest" held last Summer bring their speakers to the January 13th meeting. This is a "Show and Tell" where they will be Demo'ing their speakers , answering questions and playing music. The "Club" meets on Mercer Island at 7:30 pm every month, usually on the second Thursday of the Month.

There will be at least 2, maybe three single driver speakers there. If you decide to attend I can also bring my "Hi-Tweek Black Box Nearfield Monitors" just to help fill out out the dance card.

I'll also be bringing my "Big Money" Speakers, if I can get Loomis Armored Car Service to transport them to the Event. One can't be too careful these days!
Of course, my Focused Arrays will be there as well, it's my idea of how a line array should be done properly.

Let me know if you'd like to attend, or perhaps I should post it somewhere on diyAudio and see if there is wider interest.

Best Regards,
TerryO

I believe Terry is building Maeshowe for the EL70eN he won at the last diyFEST. I'm afraid it might spoil him :D MuHaHaaHaaaaa

Hi Dave,

Yes, I plan to have the Maeshowe speakers there, if I can figure out where to correctly apply the Activated Polyester "Tone Sauce" that makes all the difference in a speaker's performance.

On a serious note, the powers that be of the Club evidently decided to have our Off-year DIY Event on August 27th? I'm not sure of the date and , frankly I'm a bit P***ed at them for not saying anything to me about the scheduling. I don't think that it's set in stone, at least yet, so email me and we can see if something can be done to align the schedules.

For those that may be wondering what in the world I'm talking about, Dave and I try to schedule the Vancouver Island DIY Fest and the PNWAS speaker contest (or the Diy event) on different dates, to allow all those whom wish to attend both events...like me!

Best Regards,
TerryO

TerryO,

Yeah that sounds fantastic! That's exactly the type of thing I was looking for. PM me the details, I'll be there!!

Scott

Hi Scott,
As there may be a more general interest in this meeting, here's the address of the Church that our club holds their meetings. They're held in the basement, which is accessed from the lower parking lot. You'll see it when you get there.

Here's the address:

Mercer Island Congregational Church (basement)
4545 Island Crest Way
Mercer Island, WA 98040

Hope you can make it!

Best Regards,
TerryO

Yeah, don't forget to bring your own Chandeliers and Blasting Caps! Kevin and Dave R will provide the Tanks and Howitzers. We can have a BBQ if anyone has a spare flame thrower...Yes Siree, a good old fashion American Picnic!

Give me a little notice about when the lutefisk will be brewing. I'll try to arrange for my dad to make it. He may be only 100% Norwegian, but he can clean up more lutefisk than a dozen of us mere mortals!

(By the way, the tanks and howitzers are used to launch the leftover lutefisk out of the vicinity.)
