Actually it is the take off that has the most danger involved because the aircraft is not up to full power.
Yes take off is very dangerous. I once heard of a flock of birds flying into the air intake of an aeroplane at take off. The birds took out the jet engines and the plane was history.

Generally yes, but birds and other gentle creatures tend to quickly dissappear, scared to the state of panic when they find themselves in ZM's vicinity, so I suppose they won't be a problem for the air traffic...
