As I drew the short straw, I have to work this year over Christmas and New Year.

So I thought I would share with you the view as I relax after dinner following yet another gruelling days work ........not!

What a pity there's no bar on board! Just right for a G&T in the 28 degree heat.

A light snack for New Years Day ....

After yesterdays open air BBQ, the cooks could not let us starve on New Years Day.
So they prepared a light snack for us.
No wonder I never seem to loose weight !!!!

I have a neighbour/friend who has a very similar lifestyle! He works on an oil exploration boat and can be - literally - anywhere in the world for a six week stint. He then gets six weeks at home before he is sent to a different station. I suspect that the idea is that by moving the staff around there is less likelihood of industrial espionage!

Hope that you don't get a cold water posting:snowman2:!! Have a great New Year!

Well, tomorrow 20th Jan is crew change day and the long trek back to the UK begins.

A total of 4 flights and 36+ hours travel !!!

Still I get a few weeks at home before rejoining this vessel off Puerto Princesa, Palawan, Phillipines for 5 weeks.

As I said, it's a hard life .. but someones got to do it !!
