Actually, some of the claims for these audio "tweak" devices are backed up by careful scientific measurements.
For example, see this link:

I used one of those on my speakers and it really did reduce the noise.
I asked a simple question, where is del? Is it on the keyboard, or not?
For SY, the answer is: -delta(r)/r(squared)
Why it is super important, I do not know.

OK I'll bite. What noise? Does a shorted speaker have noise and is it measurable? I suspect only in a vacuum. 😀
Cal, we are having fun here, showing off. SY got me by the 'short hair' on that last challenge. Now, he should answer my question. Everybody else should understand that this is the 'lounge' and being negative feelings about others is pointless.

A joke Scott. What happens when a speaker is no longer magnetic?
Anyone tried a series RC at speaker terminals? It works for HF, and maybe Steve meant HF interference as 'noise'.

Really? I'm surprised they would bother to make it strong enough for that. Actually a placebo would probaly get a good review from 6moons.
Let's demagnetize this thread and all noise will be gone.
No andy_c demagnetized the BT thread.
Scott.
You had to mention Six Moons?
OK. This thread has already veered into the twilight zone.

Duh! Good one. Kind of like: My master tape was noisy, so I demagnitized it.
A classic old-timer joke played on broadcast juniors was tasking them with regularly emptying the demagnetizers of all that disposed audio.
SY, forgive me if I am mistaken, but could that be the derivation of the inverse square law with a point charge?
hi John !
Sorry that the discussion yesterday got quite turbulent. I trust you when you hear a difference. I had phenomenons in my listening room where i can not find a logical explanation. For example the sound changes when other people come to my studio. With certain people in the room the sound is better compared to the sound when other people visit me. I just stumbled on that speed of electrons. My prof. at university had hammered that so strong in my head (that they are slow), that i had no choice then to complain.

They talk about the iron partials becoming magnetized. Does anyone here know what purity Al is used to make optical media? I have seen figures as high as 99.999% purity for some processes, but I doubt that is used here. Perhaps a question Auplater could answer. So, I guess I am curious about how much iron could be on a DVD and what would be the total weight of the iron?
