Does XP or Firefox have a "delete all cookies on exit" except option?
Somewhere to have a list of sites for which an "include" list would be saved?
where did the "new posts" & similar menus go?

Yes.
Edit --> Preferences --> Privacy
Uncheck the "Allow sites to set cookies" box.
Hit the "Exceptions" tab and add "www.diyaudio.com"

thanks.
I tried but my menus are different. They are set up as custom by the AVG and DIYaudio is already listed and yet DIYhifi (and others) which are not in the list remember me.

the active area inside a clickable Icon is quite small.
Can the active area be increased to nearer the visible size of the icon/s?

New Posts??
I don't necessarily visit the website every day!
Cheers

Thanks, but I was really looking for 'New Posts Since I last Visited' which was available on the 'old' system (sometimes).Quick Links --> Today's Posts 🙂

I miss also this link. It's not obvious if you have saved it as a bookmark.
Where did "New posts" go?

It was figured that new posts was a duplicate of the home page... the real estate was used to put members back.
Perhaps the home page can have a link at the bottom of the list that takes you further back in time (older updates in the example below) to make them completely equivalent... example here: http://www.audiocircle.com/ (you may have to be logged in to see the same view i do)

What would be really cool is to be able to select certain forums to read new posts from. Since I only follow five forums here, I get ten pages of stuff to sift through 🙁
Cheers!
(sorry guys, I didn't see a "Feature Request" thread. Please move if needed)

New posts??
Huh?
I don't understand what you mean.
The 'see new posts' page I could get on the old software is certainly nothing like the present home page, which simply lists the forum areas.
As for real estate and putting members back, you got me there....
John

The main page of diyAudio that I see, lists threads sorted by last post date.

Hi guys.
I removed the new posts link 2 days ago. I thought it was just redundant functionality, as we have our customized front page which lists all new posts. Evidently, some people use it for seeing their own specific new posts, so I will restore the link, somewhere 🙂
Space in the blue horizontal navbar is precious, especially for the 20% of our users who use 1024x768 or lower resolutions. We've tried hard to cater for them (you'll also see shortened forum names in the recent threads list and navigation specifically to cater for them).
Thank you for reporting the problem, I take all the blame for being trigger happy on the delete button!
Jason.

Don't . I for one, was encoraging you.

I have "totally redo the navigation" on my todo list by the way 🙂 We've got the whole horizontal bar thing just because it's the stock appearance, we really need something a touch more expandable for that nav.
I've added a visited link color. It's subtle 😉 but I think enough. I tried a more obvious color but it turned the place into a checkerboard. I might be persuaded to revisit this when things die down a bit and I can recode all menu/navigation/core links to ignore the visited link color.
I've added a visited link color.
Thank you.
It was most confusing.
Cheers!
Is there any update on regaining thread subscriptions that were lost due to the overhaul/migration?

Thanks, Jason!

Not to sound ungrateful, but to my eyes, it's a bit too subtle.

Can you just lighten it up a wee bit?
Here's as it is now:
An externally hosted image should be here but it was not working when we last tested it.
And here it is simply lightened up a bit:

Hi Steve,
That smiley face was for you 😉. I did try everything in photoshop, light, dark, bland, saturated. I'll revisit it when I have time to break all the site links into nav and non-nav.

You are correct- I was thinking of the 'Forums' main page. The main page of diyAudio that I see, lists threads sorted by last post date.
I still do miss the 'New Posts' feature, though....
