not that it bothers me, but this product has been vaporware even before May 🙂 I cannot count the number of other projects that have appeared between when the "uber controller" idea was leaked and when the AC1 will be released.. Sympatico, Buffalo, COD, OTTO, Opusv2, IVY, ... the list continues. Now, I'm hoping the Placid will be released before the AC1 🙂 🙂

Well you see friend. I have been waiting for someone to subsidize my work so I can quit my day job and do this stuff full time. 😉

I squeeze this stuff in the best I can. I am a professional, and this a hobby. I hope you can understand that.

Vaporware? Other then the hundreds of JTs we have already sold (V1.0)...

I guess I am just hallucinating this...

heh, I own three balanced JTs, they are very real. I was referring to the "uber controller" that has taken back seat to a litany of projects. I don't doubt there are reasons, but just stating a fact to help manaox2 realize that others have been waiting even longer for promised release dates. Not that I'm complaining, just a fact.

That's the nice thing about a hobby. You get to set your own priorities. 🙂

While I don't mean to frustarte anyone, you should understand that work has never stopped on AC1 (was uber).

In many cases the dates I gave were dates when boards were coming in. On a couple occasions we simply decided we needed to adjust the design to make it ready for prime time.

It is coming, in fact I think we have all we need now for basic apps, its just a matter of testing and writing firmware for different apps.

LOL! But at least she wants me to finish one of my console retrofits by Thanksgiving.

Can you guys gives us the specs on what type of rotary encoders will work with the new JT? I found one with a metal body and shaft for a very reasonable price under $20 at a surplus vendor and I'd like to know if it will work...

The first version of the revised JT to become available will be the JT Basic (pictured above) (not the official name). It uses the Volumite as the controller and replicates the functionality of the original JT (simple pot volume control). The Volumite does have two free uC I/O pins available, so it will be possible to add functions to it through custom firmware (buttons etc).

Assuming all test go smoothly, I just need some time to build up a little inventory, so a few weeks.

The AC1 controlled version(s) will take a little longer, as there is a lot of firmware to write/test. The base AC1 controlled JT kit will come with the VF display and the rotary encoder with push switch. It will allow IR remote control as well. Just to clarify for myself:

The first revised version of the JT to come back out will not be able to use the AC1 when it is released? and its more of a kit of the JT Atten and a volumite with no actual changes having occured over the original JT design for the JT basic?

Dimensions for the AC1

Hi,

Did a little chassis layout work last night for my Buffalo case, and I would like to be able to fit the AC1 controller in there at some point. The thing is that I have a chassis concept already from my previous amp builds and I was hoping to get by using the same type case for the DAC.

Do you have the dimensions for the AC1 board incl. som estimate of height. Would be great if you guys have the dimensions for the VF display unit as well.

Cut the crap!! Software isn't my business! My main focus areas are:
- Digital to analog conversion (Which was my special during my education)
- Analog electronics (Also my special)

Manaox2 as you can see I feel your pain - I was hoping to stuff Pumpkin for Halloween.Russ can you post artwork for the AC1,relay controller and Joshua tree again so I can use as a drilling template. The ones I have are old and don't want to have to re-drill.
