PCB: Printed Circuit Board
A non-conducting board with one or more layers of conducting traces that simplifyes the construction of compact and complex circuits. Previously, individual components were soldered directly to each other, or were assembled on a hole filled non-conducting board. Although there are PCB's available with a generic grid of traces that can be useful for prototyping, PCB usually refers to a board that has traces and silk screened layout guides for a particular circuit.
