1/22/2004 - just started a new design Just ordered a pair of P17WJ-00-08 and D27TG-35-06's, as they were on sale. Planning on a reflex enclosure of ca 20 litres, tuned to 45hz. The tweeter will be top mounted, time-aligned, and suspended by rubberbands or something. Have previously built Tony Gees original Hatt design, and loved it. He has kindly simulated a series filter for my new project. It's very simple, only four components! Will post again as the project continues. hanskrj 1/22/2004 - interesting! Did some surfing, and discovered that the D27TG-35-06s are used in the $25000, stereophile classA rated, 530lbs Dunlavy Signature VI!!! It apparently uses a 1st order x-over. hanskrj 1/28/2004 - change of tweeters My supplyer could not deliver as promised, the D27s were sold out. Instead he offered me the SEAS H1189 (27tdfc) as a replacement. I would gladly have swapped for these, so I'm happy. hanskrj |
