Between the time we ran the prototypes and now, Mouser decided that they didn't want to sell the chosen transistors in small quantities. There are alternatives, but they are lower voltage devices which will not have as broad uses. So, in 10 days be the proud owner of 10,000 BC546C and 10,000 BC556C from Fairchild (minus the 500 or so of each for the group buy) So if your project calls for a TO-92 transistor and would benefit from higher gain and lower noise than the usual suspects drop me a line. These are suitable for the Leach amp front end, for example. Just watch the pin out - it is reversed from MPSA types so it goes in the opposite of the silkscreen. (they had been dropped initially when Jens made room for the bigger output caps.) Rotated the input and output terminals 90 degrees to allow easier access. Just for reference, I ordered enough parts to build a prototype, and the total was $34, plus shipping from digkey and mouser. I didn't expect much savings from a group buy, but it turns out you save a few bucks. Heat sink pricing is $1.80/pair for a 2" high heat sink 7.4 C/W (I'd originally proposed 1.5") Gengis has a boatload. If you are buying OPA2134's he'll ship them in that package.
