Yeah, that's why I'm asking re common mode suppression.
I saw a solution with rectifiers, but it was a completely different schematics, so...

Better to use the 6V6 pre G3X version in this case for more controlled gain and impedance

You would make a simple long-tailed pair with balanced inputs and outputs, using two 6V6-triodes per channel?
Would you need to rig up a CCS for the 'tail' (joined cathodes) to ground (or negative DC supply)?
