Not sure how the GB is being tracked, but the list people are adding their names to is missing quite a few names, including mine. Someone tagged their name onto an older list a while back and it's been contributed to from there. A Google spreadsheet might be a good idea.

GB list update - time to apply is running out

gazzagazza no worries, my GB list updates each time new member applies.

From the latest update now all can check if the GB list still correct.

BTW VSSA PCB is at finalization, some modifications had to be done because of SMD assembly production line, I'm really trying to make it perfect. Also some minor price correction will take place since all SMDs will be preinstalled.

It is good that ALF's awaiting period gave us time to make changes for the better, especially preinstalled SMDs, test points and trimmers for calibration.

100EUR is a bit high, and I have still many conventional power supplies...

Cheaper I really don't know, sorry. I thought this one is cheap.

Conventional is good if it is optimized, but my experience SMPS is recognizably better. Subjective impression for sure, but ...

I'm surprised that the SMPS is helping the VSSA sound better. Generally, the SMPS has reliability issues, ripple and noise are much higher, transient response is far worse, and leakage current is higher.

I run a phono amplifier from a SMPS, and it gives problems even at lowish output. This will soon be rectified (and smoothed

) with a linear supply.

I am also building the peeceebee with linear supplies (three per stereo box). ±12v, ±42v and ±35volts.

As optimized supply I have recommended the following:

Just upgrade components to work in high power circuits, make C1 at least 10.000mF instead of 2200uF (If you can spare the first cap from the total capacitance) and use a better regulator or get rid of it and add as much quality capacitors after the "switch". I use this in all my amps.

Is somebody can advice improvements to the circuit, I'm all ears...eyes...

VSSA PCB gerbers already prepared. This week I'll visit three PCB+SMD assembly companies and choose the one to produce VSSA.

Two MUR160 transformed to SMD, now ES1D, Vishay, also preinstalled. I'll also try to set faston terminals to be preinstalled

There will be only 6 electrolytic capacitors, two MKT capacitors, two BCs, KSA/KSC and ALF mosfet to solder manually. :yes:

I think you're the only one with such a wish, but also no problem, there will be some plain PCBs enabled for the ones to put esoteric SMDs on. :wiz:
