Good news for those intending to use the Amanero with an ES9023 based DAC, this inexpensive chip plays both 352.8 and 384KHz even if the data sheet states max accepted sample rate is 192.
We have tested this on three identical DACs, two in sync mode running on the Combo384's XOs and one running in async mode with a local 50KHz XO. All 3 DACs played 384 fine and 2 played 352.8 fine, the third (using a different firmware/driver) had noise when playing this sample rate.
Given the scarcity of such material is not that relevant but may be interesting for testing purposes.

I did a test on a WM8741 DAC. PCM is very fine and i like that sound.
The experiment of DSD playback has also succeeded. But the gain of DSD is so low comparing to PCM decoding. Why? i don't understand.
The L/R channel is not correct and seems to be inverse, Combo384 just updated to latest version 1.056.

Just finished an Amanero/Buff3SE. Easy to connect and get going. DSD fine, PCM all good except noise and distortion on native 352Khz wav files and 44.1 upsampled to 384Khz, 176Khz upsampling is fine.
Hopefully will be bandwidth adjustment on buff3.

Supra,
what drivers and firmware are you using?
Is the problem the same at both 352.8 and 384?

Latest driver and firmware, JRiver, didn't have this problem with buff2, suspect it is a matter of finding right settings on dac, I hope!
Yes both 352 and 384.
Still prefer exa u2i for PCM, but the amanero is sensational on DSD.

I'd suggest you try the Amanero with a HQ external PS, A Salas BiB definitely improved SQ of my Amanero. This way you can get closer noise performance to the ExaU2I's isolated USB input.

If your problem happens with both sampling rates then is not the same as mine, I can play 384 perfectly, I only get noise with 352.8.

I suspected the exa had better isolation, thanks for the advice, I will look into that.
