I use Bybee Music Rail between My Placid HD and the New AVCC .
So it can not be better than that.

The best opamp choice I guess would be opa211? 100pF capacitor should be ceramic type? Is there a place on pcb where the cap can be installed?)

I would use OPA2209 or OPA2211.
Ceramic or film will work fine.

analog_sa,
I think I explained myself pretty well. Your present tone will only result in deleted posts. If you want to have a constructive dialog then you will need to change your approach. My "secret sauce" comment was not meant to be taken seriously. It was meant as humor. The circuit is *not* the same between the two revisions. The layout most definitely is not either.

I did the full upgrade with the Trident's and AVCC 2.1 to my BIII. It does improve the sound IMHO. Thanks to the Twisted Pear guys for bringing world class sound to the DIY community.

I like to think maybe it is just *more ultra high end*
![]() I think the I/V stages are solid (both). Otherwise it would be tough to detect these sort of improvements.

Parallel coupled Jfets. Bipolar have lower on and you just need 1 . Maybe the fets are measured to be equal but what happens when they get burned in ?
Anyway I have built something better I think. N.B. I still think your Legato is very very good do not misunderstand me. Last edited by Erlend Sæterdal; 14th December 2012 at 12:47 PM. |
