(Images have to be kinda small.)
The metal has done some shifting for sure. The only thing that might be a problem is output transformer plates might have separated a bit near the mount.
I still don't have a decent cam . So I do what I can with a vid cam a childs digital cam:eek: and my trusty old scanner.
This is the bottom of what is left of the mid size tube.

Yes I want to retore it. So heavy I won't be shipping it anywhere .
It will go great with the fir flooring.

Ux7 ? I think those are the big lovely ones.
Frank you say 300b . I think you know your stuff.
I wrote to a guy who owned a kailin EL84 push pull,it never came with a schematic and ran very hot. He mentioned that Kailin also made KT88/6550 amps as well . He never was able to track down the actual manufacturer either. Anyway back to the facts there are a ton of new tubes for sale on ebay . Other components as well .

I need to replace one of these.

I heard that

Don't laugh
I'm a musician not a technician.
I only started realizing this stuff recently when nobody else in the band would even try.
It is the coolest thing I've done in a long time.
It all started when I bought a set of home made speakers at a garage sale . I used them on a small powered mixer for practice.
A couple of years I used these old speakers this way. I never thought much about it until we did some recording. I was always careful not to drive the speakers too hard cause i did not know the specs. We had hooked a mackie mixing board up. I have never been quite the same since. I could not believe the sound coming out of them.
They turned out to be Tannoy monitor gold 12's in langcaster replica's.
I want to power them with a quality amp giving them the respect they deserve.
I have ran into one person in this town that even know's anything about tubes. I used to browse this site once and a while wondering what the heck you guy's were going on about.
Now You get to wonder what the heck i am going on about .

"Can you use sensible measurement units"

John
You would not believe what Canadians deal with on a daily basis.
You should try working on a car . You need to have two sets of tools.
I shop I play I dream in metric . I build houses and machines with inches and feet. Go figure.

Frank 300b

Do mean 300b tubes ?
I'm liking the sound of that. Is it a style of amp?
Where to find tubes ?
I see some rather large price ranges out there.
Sure I would like to go all out . But my lady wants a ring .

deuey,

Very nice, but no.
The output tubes will almost certainly be 300B's as Frank said.
The 300B has no top-cap.
300B's are easy to find, but which ones? There is a degree of snobbery that ranks with the caste system. You can pay from $50 to $500.
Personally, I wouldn't go buying tubes yet. There's a lot to do first. And after that, start off with the "cheapies".

Metric dreams....
Our "2 sets of tools" syndrome, disappeared about 15 years ago, unless of course you're a vintage fan).
I do everything in metric except PCB layouts and watching TV:)

OUTPUT TUBES?

Hi,

Actually when looking at the last picture the big sockets are not likely to be UX4.

UX4 is the same diameter as the octal socket preceding it on the picture.
So the big ones may well be a Jumbo four socket as John suggested.

The front ones are noval (9 pin).

So my guess on this being a 300B amp is quite likely wrong.

This is not necessarily bad news of course.:devily:

After all a 211 or 845 is no slouch either but....you're going to have to take very good care when restoring these amps because this kind of tubes are often run at 1KV+.
This is lethal.:att'n:

The resistor you showed in a previous pic is a 100R 5W wirewound.

Cheers,;)

Ok so I need a 100R 5W wirewound resistor.

Yes the tube sockets are definitely quite a bit larger on the twist lock 4 point style 35mm obo.
The mid size 8 point looks like about 27mm.
The small 9 point socket is about 21mm.

I work for an American company that brought all of their blueprints/tools with them.

I'm careful with any power. I've seen the consequences.
All the wires running through the chasis are put through rubber grommets which seem to have done the job well .
What I also notice is a careful and clean wiring job .
Only the choke coil Has shifted the most.
So electricly all I see wrong is the resistor and tubes.
