What's the best (bar none) OPT for a SE 300B?
Lundahl, Tango, Tamura, other? Secondarily, what's the best for the money (value)? OK, if not the best, then your favorite(s). thanks, -Brad-

IMO, for SE parafeed applications, Magnequest TFA-2004 100% Cobalt core.
Or course, YMMV. |

For the money?
One Electron. $89 USD apiece when you buy two. $99 each if you only get one. Antique Electronic Supply is the only place you can get them from, though. Gabe

i'm sure that best will depend somewhat on implementation... the James transformers certainly need to be on the list for consideration.

Check out www.tribute-audio.com, equal + japanese appeal would be Tamura F-5000 series, next best, Silver Rock, next best, Kondo silver.

What exactly are you looking for your transformer to do? In what sort of topology, being driven by which flavour of 300B? A great recommendation for an excellent value transformer with good bandwidth (for an SE), at both ends, would have to be the Lundahl LL162x/1663/1664 series. Do thyself a favour and get thee listening to a good PP amp. |
