The 6C33 demand much from the socket, even so Russian sockets use glove/lugs types contact:

Seems there is no better contact system than this picture.
I have never seen any Russian equipment uses this socket for 6C33C, this type of phenolic is designed for lower power tubes like GU-29, GU-32 (829,823)...
Tubes like 6C33C deserve ceramic sockets, there's even rumor that in Russian equipments that use 6C33C the soclets are periodically replaced along with the tubes.
I don't see why you couldn't use NOS sockets provided you clean them of oxidation where there appears to be any.
I've encountered sockets on which the degradation was insurmountable.
