mindengine,
the 2SC2342/2SA1358 was not a very good choice. |

2sc2341 /1358 is relatively easy to choice for 2sc5200(toshiba) , 2sc2922 (sanken) . |

We seem to drifted way from what I am trying to find out the Transistors I have listed here are the originals for the 8watt hirage the equivalents listed are the ones I can still get hold of but I just want to confirm if there are the correct replacements for the originals

colin.hepburn2,
2SK170BL/2SJ74BL instead of GR is no problem, I would definitely try the 2SK246/2SJ103. 2SC1775/ 2SA872 "A" only indicates a higher voltage rating. The 2SD667/2SB647 and the 2SC2342/2SA1358 are not suitable (intended for current amplification), 2SC2632/2SA1124 is OK. |

And several folks say it sounds nice.
This confirms, once more, that simulator results does not match listening tests...or, as another option, people is biased and do not even compare to know if it really beat others or not. I have build several years ago and i dislike it a lot... sounded not fine, despite i like some JLH models that operates in class A too. Now, reading thread, i have simulated all options, and found them not fine, into fourier many behave bad, distortion levels (THD) is higher than normal, simple, standard and common cheap AB amplifiers. I have now tested the last circuit published, and i could not see (numbers) good results. The best one (into simulator) was the one operates with 35 volts regards, Carlos

colin.hepburn2,
I consider it an unreliable fake, don`t trust the specifications. |
