I am getting ready to build the 200W version of this amp this year - hopefully. I have two questions:
1. What current gain group would you recommend for the BD139/140 BJTs - 10 or 16?
2. What are your thoughts about using a switching power supply with the amp - something like Hypex SMPS1200A700 (63Vdc 100 kHz switching frequency)

Lbud4, I use 16 but 10 is OK too.
No problem to use switching power supply, I use it in my 100W CFA ClassA+ClassB amplifier with wery good result.

Hello Guys,
Behind your switching power supply, do you add capacitors, or even a CRC system?
If yes, what value for your 100W amp at 63V?

I do not have intetion to offer any more PCbs for this amp, but here are gerbers for 200W CFA board, balance addin board and PS regulator board.
Have a nice time building and enjoy listening this powerful amplifier.😉

I have a set of these boards that I won't be building. If anyone wants them I would sell them.
I would like to have informations from those who have built 100W or 200W versions of those amps from the gerbers I offered free of charge here.
I am using or used both types for years with grate satisfaction, so if any build is there, please put some informations here.

Hi damir, I came across this thread and am interested in the CFA 200W amplifier with IRFP. I have a few questions...
1. What is the real power output of the 200W version up to 4 ohms
2. What IS the slew rate (SR)
3. What are the benefits of a PS regulator vs an analog power supply?
Thanks Roman 😄

PS regulator is an analog power supply just not with fixed output voltage, described in the thread.
I've been searching for 300w/4 ohm amp plus 100w amps and there's gerbers for both options here. wow!
How many have successfully built these?

Except my amp I know for one more here in Croatia working now for over one year (as two mono blocks) with owner full satisfaction.
That previous post was about 200W version with balanced inputs. 100W version was built by many.
Parts availability or substitutes?
Without going through the BOM in detail , is it most likely that substitute semi's are available?? No issue with output devices and most of them!
I'm planning 3x200w mono's and a 100W 4 channel amp and this is just to start, so possibly more later.
First I build is a single 200w mono fully functional and tested and if all is good then continue.
Its important that my devices are obtained from Newark, Mouser or Digikey.
So, for example I don't see 2SC2240?
Before I order boards or any other parts I wanted to check into this.
Great work, thanks!

..link please. For sale 200W version. Boards are not finished as you can see on picture. Reason-moving to Dadod A-class variant.
thx
chris
sorry it was not clear by me....link please.
thx
chris
i want the link to the Dadod Class A amplifier
