Question SUMO Power Amp

I just purchased a Sumo power amp, it is titled "The Nine" on the front. It is a massive thing relatively speaking. I spent a whopping $20.00 on it sight unseen. I hooked it up and it sounds great! Can anyone provide me with any information on this equipment?

It's an excellent amp, class A, 90 watts/ch I believe. Originall sold for about $1500 if I remember correctly. Designed by James Bongiorno of GAS and SAE fame.

Do a web search and you'll probably find a lot of info.

Nikko Pre-Amp, GAS Son, GAS Grandson, Mirage Electronic Crossover, Marantz CD63SE, Satellites and 2 12" woofers/ch. Not all DIY but what the hell. Rap sucks big time. Mingus rules.

that's one interesting amp. Look at how it amplifies the + and - half, with all NPN transistors!

Interesting, isn't it?

I think it's a so-called cyclotron. See other threads about this subject in this forum. The Sumo 9 is mentioned more often.

But there's a complmentary section having both NPN AND PNP transistors, isn't it? But it is a ciRclotron, yes.
