As soon as i plug the rca's into the amp it will draw excessive current..

All rca ground shieds from the jacks themselfs to the board are intact any suggestions?

With nothing connected to the amplifier, what is the resistance between the RCA shields and the B+ terminal of the amp?

S Merlington 15th July 2012 11:52 PM

38.2 K ohms

Was the remote voltage applied when the amp drew excessive current?

S Merlington 16th July 2012 12:42 AM

Yes But amp wont draw excessive current until i plug the RCA"S in

Will it draw excessive current with no speakers connected?

With the amp powered up, including remote, what is the DC voltage on the RCA shields? Black probe on the amp ground and red probe on the shield, no RCAs or speakers connected.

S Merlington 16th July 2012 01:31 AM

Amp still draws excessive current qith no speakers hooked up..

With black probe on ground and red probe on Shields I have 12.70 volts

Perry Babin 16th July 2012 02:22 AM

What's the DC voltage across the B+ and ground terminals?

S Merlington 16th July 2012 02:46 AM

13.89 volts

Perry Babin 16th July 2012 02:54 AM

What's the resistance between the RCA shield and the non-bridging speaker terminals?

No RCAs plugged in.
