Pass Aleph P 1.7 preamp builders thread

Have just get my Aleph 1.7 diy KK board to play
make some changes ...use Maida 21 century regulater, instead off the normal powersupply..very pleased by the sound and very precise regulation...60vdc perfekt

also changes all 10uf wima caps....44uf panasonic fc caps for output...and elna 47uf silmic2 for input
the sound is in my opinion a good deal better than the normal diy setup
more clear ,,better dynamic,, easy to hear small things in the music
next step is to make my dynamax balanced volume ready..

Hope you can use some off this to inspiration

best Bjarne

Hello,

I am beginner in Hifi-DIY and have also a question regarding the Pass Aleph P 1.7.
I have already asked it but in the "Pass Aleph P" (not P 1.7, so in the wrong thread).

It is about what the Pass Aleph P 1.7 distungishes from the Alep P 1.0:

At the Aleph P 1.7 the current sources at the bottom and at the top are connected.
I guess the current source at the bottom is biased synchronal with the voltage swing
(measured at the top current source) that way.
I think it reduces distortion?
Is that right?

Thank you very much :)

But I am not sure if we talk about the same thing/connection. You said upper ones are set for 30 mA,
the lower for 20 mA and that the difference are shunted to ground. I mean the connection via
the 10k Ohms resistors at the very left R46 and very right R61 on the schematic
between the current sources.
