Babowana,

I listened to that LP with some friends a few weekends ago on my GPA 604's. Incredible performance with comparable sonics.

Nelson,

Thank you for sharing your impressions of the Exotic stuff. I appreciate it. Now how about spilling the beans on the new stuff?

Chris

What's next

"The M2 and J2 are new and not previously announced, M2 using
power Mosfets, and J2 using power JFETs. They are quite different
from previous products."

Maybe M1 and J1 are DIY stuff 😀 Others are retail only.

Or maybe headphone gear stuff - or more than likely have 2 mosfets, and two jfets, respectively. Maybe.😕

Still would not mind to know how Papa's Turntable is setup.

But anyone is my friend who has clip leads hanging about.🙂

Cviller,
some day when the time is ripe for etching the boards for the M2 and J2, would you please count me in for 2 boards each, will you?

Sure thing, but I'm afraid we'll have to wait quite a while for those schematics to appear here on the site.

The do however sound very sweet! 😎

But as Papa has mentioned, the matching between amp and speaker is a venture worth exploring, and so far you have F1-F5 and AlepJ to choose from. 😀

Hi Nelson,
Now that's how I would define heaven.

Lot's of ideas, lot's of toys and the ability to indulge it all. There is a lot of truth in what you are doing. Hard to argue at all about something that is sitting there in front of you.

Here's to you Nelson, and the gifts you give in the form of possibilities and alternative ideas without the hocus pokus!

Hi Morten,
I had no idea I was that overweight! Wow, and that was a couple years ago too!

I was actually referring to the amount Nelson teaches and his personal time given to the members here. The circuits Nelson allows DIYers to build, and the support(!!!) is something that you cannot put a value on.

Well that is not the most flattering pic. The angle wasn't the best. It was also staged, Chris wasn't taking that particular stuff home. Although it was accurate in that many people DID take lots of stuff.. Nelson's area looked like a store it had so much to give away..

Hi Mark,
Chris wasn't taking that particular stuff home.
No, not on a plane all the way to Toronto I wouldn't!

Some people walked out with many transformers! Wow! One or two lower current transformers would have made me happy, but Nelson doesn't build like that.

I did pick up some parts, and they did help me out with designing stuff. I still have some to go. No way am I unhappy with that.

Colin was a great guy to meet. He was very, very helpful. It was Colin who scampered off to get us a soldering station (pictured) to replace a next-to-useless soldering pencil I was trying to use. No one asked him, he offered. SY ended up keeping the iron. After all, it was his pencil - so he really needed the soldering station! He kept up being cheerful as he helped many people find things in the "pile" he and Nelson brought. I am looking forward to Colin following in his father's footsteps.

Nelson was gracious enough to lend a hand as well. He didn't laugh as I asked what the bias current should be, or which control did what. I wasn't at all familiar with the amplifier Mark and Morten had built. After I became far to uncomfortable to work any longer, Nelson sat down and completed the job. Never a complaint and always with good humor. I was toast before even starting anything there to be honest and must have been a little cranky by that time. I'd do it again in a heart beat.

-Chris

Edit:
Yeah, always stand at a 45 degree angle to the camera and you will only look 0.707 times as chubby.
Well Jack, nothing would help now! Besides, everyone knows that figure is actually 0.7071. 😀
That was pretty quick witted there Jack, I like it!
