We really should all make a Burning Amp with both kinds of output stages. Then we'd know what we're talking about vis a vis single ended vs. complementary sounds-wise.
kinda..... |

Great that you're coming.
And that wasn't a sales pitch- I had forgotten just how cool the Burning Amp family is. Mark |

Hello everyone,
Just a quick question about the 1ohm 3w resistors in ba-1 (for with use with ba-3b) Can I use wirewound resistors Do they have to be matched Your advise is very much appreciated |

yes , you can
match them if you can one of possibility is with small precise CCS (5-10mA , small Jfet or anything what you already have in drawer) measuring voltage across resistor; then all you need is to compare voltage readings

Thanks,
How precise does matching have to be done? Would within 2 percent be sufficient? Heres's another question the idea is to build balanced version of ba3 to serve as frontend with powerstage of ba1 (thats the single ended version). I will build two mono chassis. Each chassis has heatsinks on left and right side. Am I correct saying that al upper side mosfets (from in fact two ba-1 powerstages) go together on one heatsink and al downside mosfets go together on the other heatsink? Your advice is again much appriciated Last edited by Alettagla; 4th October 2012 at 02:38 PM. |

let's just say thjat you'll have them matched more tightly , if you buy 50% more than you need
regarding heatsinking/grouping - make them in a way which leads to tidier wiring
