Sad night at Maison Weldon. Wifey was happily typing away when POOF!

I could hear it in the next room. Now the nice big shiny computer is silent and the little dusty one is all that's left. I sure had got used to multiple processors and all that jazz. I hope it is a simple problem with a PSU or something but I'm not sure. When something lets out a little bang, maybe it's telling me something?

:bawling:

Happened to me. Cap or tranny in power supply. Took it to the guru. Put in new power supply. In and out five minutes.:D

It might be a worm. In the apple.
:D
Happened to me. Cap or tranny in power supply.
From what she described, that was my first guess
The batteries have exploded in iMacs,
The battery for the memory when you unplug it?
as was stated the imacs have notorious "bad Caps" in the power supply mainly, lots of info on line...
Again, my first thought.

Thanks guys, will suggest it when I take it in.

Cheers.

:bawling: OMG using this old unit is painful.
