I would like to replace the capacitors in my Totem Model 1 crossover in hope of a better sound.
Can anyone advise on this? Thanks!

They already have polypropylene bypassed with polystyrene - a difficult combination to beat.

Hi Bill,
Thanks for the info, did you know any other mods on the speakers then?

Personally, I wouldn't change a thing.

Recently, I found that positioning the speakers to provide a full-bodied presence for the vocals is pretty difficult. I tried w/o toeing-in the speakers and it was terrible.
How do you place yours? Thanks

If you must this may help :
http://home.hetnet.nl/~geenius/CAP.html but I'd regard the Totem's are well optimised and suggest you'd probably be wasting money on expensive capacitors. |

The Totem Model 1 are using Solen caps with polysterene bypass. The tweeter is using a 3.9uF caps which I planned to change to Mundorf Supreme or the Silver in Oil.
This will be my next upgrade. |
