Yes I have thought about that. But I can always reach inside through woofer hole. The only thing I might change is the amount of filling.

Today I will check out some dark gray colors. I think it will be better than the copper/orange color I had in mind earlier.

Yeah I think that is close to it, do you like it Salas? As long as it is not light gray I can be satisfied.
Tonight I will also glue the baffles, been waiting for this moment too long, lol.

Sounds like a good hue if you will find the best one. Yes, to listen well sealed for the first time is the No1 goal.

Did not find a good darker grey color, so I have to look some more before I can decide. Anyway, the speakers are glued together tonight as planned, se picture.

Well my plan was to paint them first before I mount and solder the drivers, you have to be patient my friend .

Some update: now they are treated with putty ready for sand paper. I also used Shellack on the open cuts to make it easier with putty/painting. I must say I like shellack a lot, it is expensive but really works. About the color, I am now leaning towards a creamy white color (not that clear cold white you see on walls), I think it will look good and also will be easy to get a good surface look. Max contrast to the black drivers too.

I had installed whitish pro speakers with black metallic perforated grills in lux cafes in the past that looked awesome but the key was they blended correctly with professionally designed interiors. Can be great if you think they will blend.

What RAAL number color you will use for creamy white? Can't you paint them in Photoshop in a picture taken in room and have a preview first?

I have no idea what the number is/will be, but I can get it later when selecting a color. The thing is that the putty I used is white and give a good idea of how it will look.

Soon ready for color, a little more putty is needed to get a perfect surface. I also bought some color today (creamy white), it is a little less white than pure white to make it less cold looking. This weekend I will paint it, pictures of it as soon as it is ready .

I have painted them white one layer now, the color is nice but the finish is not very good. I use water based paint and it is a pain to use. It dries very quickly and need some serious skills to get good. I am slowly learning but it will need some more layers than planned with sanding inbetween making this a far more complicated process than I suspected. Good news is I like the color, but I think it will not be ready this week . Going on come vacation over new year but the end of the first week 2012 it will be ready.

Its progress at least. Cabinetry and painting are highly evolved crafts on their own. Some guys can be really impressive on those after lots of experience.

Yes it needs some special skills, I could have choosen a different color type but this one is good for the environment and smells almost nothing. I need to get the hang of it, I will post a picture when it looks ok.

Slowly progress with the painting, it looks better and better and will be ready this weekend. I have a question about speaker terminals. How should I mount these to be sure of that it will not get loose with time? They only have a nut and a plastic washer to hold them (from the inside).
