Lol, at the moment those woofers are just slapped into a box, that blew a driver, with whatever tweeter and crossover was in there... ANYTHING should sound better, Its just that wood and parts are not cheap (even when its free), so I'd like some very concrete working points before I start

It's only my opinion but even though they go against some of the established rules of thumb, I think they'll sound fine in that box. I'd be more concerned at whether the woofers sound OK around the 2kHz mark because you may be cutting it fine to choose a crossover point.

Well, they are not horrible sounding at the moment, just a bit shy in the mids.

Not perfect, but you can buy 10 drivers for the price of a set of my scanspeaks.

Just checking, have you stuffed the box and are you using a tweeter at the moment?

Is baffle step compensation about same that Lpad for tweeter? Just with different corner frequency.

Can someone link here the most useful white papers for passive crossovers. (this I've found Passive Crossover Network Design)
Have to found something to read and understand, escpecially cases where lowpass and BSC are done with same components in circuit. usually they are done like that?
