Hi Fred,
Received the goods Hunting for power supply and casing starts. I have a salvaged shielded Kenwood E+I tranformer providing a single rail 42 VDC and 3 amps. That should do it, though it would require a large (high) casing... let's see how that works out, will spend some time in the casing corner of the electronics shop.

The Curve Tracer not need great heat sink, because Q1--Q4 not fever when no measure.
but if you measure large curent long time,They may heat.

The power supply is 32~40V,3A, and When the output current 2.5A, voltage drop need
less than 2V, suggest regulator.

There are some 2500mA 32V power supplies for HP printers, but no higher current ratings than that (search eBay on 'HP 32V 2500').

Locky_Z: what is the power supply unit you used in your photos (brand) ?
