This is a graph of the settling time for a speaker cable. It uses the hf impedance of the cable as 100 ohms, typical of a zip, and a load from 2 to 20 ohms resistive. Of note is how the system's settling time is dependent on the value of the load, and it is over 2 orders of magnitude longer than one would expect of a short cable. This settling delay is a consequence of the line being charged by the current the load requires, as opposed to the current the line would expect if the load were matched.
