USB vs PCIe Sound Card for audio analysis

Sadly, the best USB interfaces are not produced anymore and haven't been replaced by anything of the same quality for the same price. What's on the market is certainly good enough for studio work but less so for measurements.

The stupidity of this escapes me, except that the numbers don't really translate into sound quality.

Not so bad, btw, looks like E-MU 0404 are better and cheaper, right?

these values are good enough to analyze amps without spend too much money on hardware.

i have 300-400usd to spend now, looks like will purchase virtins DSO

well, still trying to get some card (used and external will be great, so can user with with my laptop)
need to get it from someone located in USA. emu 0404 impossible to get :/ others new looks expensive!

Looks like UAC-2 is the only that can get but are 250USD :/

Someone tested/measure some "Creative Sound Blaster X-Fi HD USB Audio System with Phono Preamp" ?its less than 100USD in amazon

Another option can be "Xonar U7" price similar to Creative Sound One

Hey samsagaz, I have been looking at alternatives for ages and nothing beats the EMU0404 for price/value. The next alternatives require much more money. or the QA interfaces for measurement. The other Creative and Xonar stuff are not as good.
