I've decided to go with a separate 8V supply to the main PSB for the transport mechanism and a 5V for the digital audio circuitry on the board. Each supply will be fed by its own transformer. I know there is some debate about whether this will really take things to the next level, but I'm willing to give it a try.

The question I have is, should I do that, or break out a separate supply only for the clock (can I do that?) and keep everything else fed by the main 8VDC PS? I'm wondering if this is a better option. If I go to a Tent Labs clock, would it not be as good if I didn't feed it its own supply, but did have all of the 5V stuff (including the Tent) on a supply separate from the 8V?

Ok, I got customer agreement to post here, so here we go.

¨Hi Tibi,

I should mail you earlier but i as trying to ,,improve" the vicol puck. First of all i am very satisfied with the puck When you compare it with the original magnetic puck from Shigaraki The vicol puck has more balance in the sound -more detail- placement of instruments is much better-and more detail. So i,m very happy with it. First i started with only the vilt on the bottem(as on the pictures). Then i start thinking how can i,, improve "the influence of the puck.without destroying it The second goal was if it was not an improvement it should be removable. without damaging the puck.Well it is finished now.The only thing is i cannot make an a/b compare because i have only one puck. 1-On the bottem of the puck is vilt 2-Then the Aluminium of the puck 3-The a thin layer of double sided tape 4-then 3 mm rubber on top of the double sided tape 5-Then a layer of vilt again 6-The most difficult thing is to make the rubber the same size as the puck. 7-the weight of the puck is now from 55 grams to 62 grams. I am more satisfied with the puck now. it is sounding magnificent. ¨

And some pictures.

Tibi
