VERY interesting Piersma!!
I intend having a look at the Dig. output signal from the TL51X on a CRO today and will let you know the result. I hope its better than the TL1 pre-mod!. It amazes me that a D/A could lock to such a signal. radar.

Checked the waveshape today. It's pretty much the same as the Modded TL1 into a
75ohm load so ok. I must admit I have seen better.I once owned a Teac VRDS and it's output was a joy to behold!!(and hear) radar

hi Eric,
You have checked the waveshape, and you confirmed your CEC is pretty good. When I checked my CEC TL51 (old model) sereral years ago i was really disappointed by this highly regarded but over estimated player. The waveshape was really misserable, and because of that no bass slam. Back then I've moded the CEC rightaway and I am happy now for several years. regards, Piersma |

Hi Piersma,
My CEC appears to be different to yours in the Output area.(could be elsewhere too) If you see ALP's entry on the "I need help to connect mY TL51X" forum. He includes a thumbnail diag of the o/p cct. My machine is like that-no pulse transformer output, just a complicated flip flop ic setup. Regards radar
