I will experiment with other power down the line.

Those would include the designer of the AMR CD-77. Sometimes its good to take advice from those who have commercial success with these things. DIY is great, but with core fundamentals that are handed on a platter, its not prudent to simply discard them. Alas, each to their own.

It's like a dog packs with alpha subjects after a fox. They want to be the fox but yell between them to manipulate others by convocating some as crap towel cleaner despite understanding where the FOX want to go ! Just for bad ego and commercial goals !
