Yes, the backdoor will work for you if your want to switche between spdif sources and I2S source. However If you just need an I2S input, you even don't need the spdif board

.

As well, FIFO will never wait for empties or stops except you put a wrong Fs.

G'day Ian,

So to clarify, you made this smart enough so that if the input stream stops, the output stream stops as well? So that if the source is paused, the FIFO effectively pauses as well?
If I'm grasping this correctly, that's bloody marvelous!
So definitely no room for u.fl connectors? Perhaps (another) adaptor board? Or do you feel the input to the FIFO the requirement for the cont imp u.fl's is not required?

no need for ufl there, but you could probably retrofit them easy enough

Yes, only firmware need to be upgraded. Hardware keeps no any change.
