Been trying different paints over the years, even bought a gal of black lacquer once; which worked well but humidly needs to just right and really needs to be sprayed in a booth.
I did pick this up: Shop Rust-Oleum 32 fl oz Interior/Exterior Satin White Paint and Primer in One at Lowes.com
(they say Rust-Oleum is really just an oil paint with a insignificant amount of rust prohibitor)
Maybe Polyurethane paint? Boat Topside Paint

yes very true.
Well used the Semi-Oil paint; pretty happy with the cost vs. finish and coats need.
This is one sealer and one finish coat.
The only painting technique I seem to have luck with is high pressure/wide fan, stand back,
close eyes and pull trigger.

I do like this oil (white); $9.95 for a quart and $10 for thinner. That a lot of painting/cleaning for $20 bucks.
The black pair needs some touch up, e.g. the tweeter is not perfectly flush, will fix that, sand and re-paint.
*** Tweeter fix: This was the cheapest top bearing router bit I could find, it worked beautifully.

General 450
Been trying different paints last couple of weeks, the best bet is to go to a Ace Hardware and looks for Valspar - I was really happy with another project with a quart of Valspar OIL, $11 a quart, satin finish.
Had a few thoughts about the Valspar flat water base, which is very forgiving. After the project start looking good; 2 - 3 coats, it can be clear coated with something like this for a whole new look:
General Finishes Exterior 450 Varnish QT
Also tried a premium Bejamin Moore water base paint, which does seems to harden up very nicely: pic

what rednecks do
This belongs on "what rednecks do" but it does work and saves a lot of thinner.
Works nicely if you just want to repaint a side, or stained top.
Really like the Valspar oil, only $10 at Lowes. One quart can finish a lot of projects. They say its the same paint as in the spray bombs.
The Zinsser oil "Cover Stain" primer works nicely - sands perfectly smooth; drys fast if left outside.
