Amp is stuck in protection mode..

All outputs test fine..

Heres what i get on the KA3525

Is there ever any DC across the speaker terminals as you try to power it up?

Yes i get about 30 volts across the speaker terminals as i try to power it up

Everything is testing fine don't know why I'm getting 30 volts of DC at the speaker terminals when trying to power it up and the outputs are removed ..

Anyone have any ideas

I don't know which version driver board you have but defective Q124/5 and/or conductive circuit board are the most common causes for negative voltage.

I removed the 2 MPSA56'S and amp powers up ..

I replaced them and amp protects ..
I removed all the transistors from the driver circuit and only put the 56's in and amp protects with them in

Any ideas

I figured it out ..

But now I have positive voltage across the speaker terminals and its pulsing

This amp is the biggest piece of junk ive ever worked on..

Ive removed all of the transistors from the driverboard..

If i put 1 A56 in the curcuit the amp will protect on me..

Any ideas on what to check since thats the only transistor in the curcuit and the amp protectss..?

board isnt conducting..

Im gonna go thru this entire amp since it has numerous problems..

1 it protects

2: the rail voltage is 96 volts and caps are only rated for 80 volts..

3: when it did work it had a loud turn off pop..

Got the amp to power up..

The next problem i have is rail caps are rated for 80 volts..

The positive rail voltage is 94 volts
The negative rail voltage is 81 volts..

The 150K resistor measure 147.8 K out of the board..

The turn off pop may be because these amps with that style board don't like when u put off the power and remote at the same time.

Ok i put the outputs back in the amp..

I now have -73 and +83 volts of rail voltage on the outputs..

I get + - 15 volts on all opamps ..

I get no output at all from the amp..

Any ideas where to start checking??

Was the rail voltage measured with reference to the secondary CT?

Using the center tap the rail voltage is at + - 82 volts..

Amp has no output at all..

I do not get rail to rail oscillation on the outputs

Any ideas on where to start?
