Default sound level problem

Hey, i have a question for you guys. after trying out a diy firstwatt F5 (made for home audio) in my car i was disappointed very much. the sound level at ful gain was so low that i could hardly hear it. where do i search for problem? little more info on my car audio setup: the head unit is pioneer p88rs, mid range speakers -rs audio spl (91db), tweeters (some old scan speaks). there are no problems when i run the speakers off my car amps (audiosystem)

The head unit may not have enough preamp voltage to drive the amp, home amps usually need substantially more. Maybe you can modify the input circuit of the amp to compensate.

You should post this in the Pass Labs forum if it's a Pass design.

It was discussed on the solid state forum. Try asking this question there.
