i found another amp at a flea market and it doesnt seem to be working i took it apart and checked the outputs and the power supply and they all test ok. the cases are the big ones for all the outputs and power supply. i checked them the normal way i would check the TO-220 cases. none of them have any shorts between the legs and are all around .5
there are 8 TO220 cases in the middle of the amp bolted to the heatsink and i dont know what they are for or if i should pull and test them. they are ....
LM337T, LM317T x2 ,LM1086, regulators possibly?
U1620 x2, U1620R x2 rectifiers possibly?
i imagine these are rectifiers and regulators. do these fail and if they do fail can i check them like other FETs?

You have the regs and rectifiers right. They can fail but it's not common in Rockford amps. The regs can't be checked for anything other than shorts (a rare failure mode for regulators). The rectifiers can be checked with a meter.

when i first connect remote power to the amp i get a buzzing sound that seems to be originating from the power supply of the amp.it only does it for a second or two then stops. i can also get this same sound to happen non stop if i touch pins 9,10 with my multimeter. i tried wiggiling the FETs and the torroid and the caps to check for a bad solder but it doesnt change anything and im not getting any visible sparking either. it kind of sounds like electricity arc-ing. i even shut off all the lights and looked for any sparking brightness and cant find anything.

From the voltages you posted, it appears that this amp is a bit different than the schematic I'm using. Get the correct schematic diagram from Rockford and email me a copy.

no still no sound but the outputs are getting warm/hot and also the bank of TO-220 cases is getting hot CR1,2 D16,17
there is no LED light anywhere on this amp to tell me if it is powering on all i have is the little screen i think it must be for adjusting the slopes? but it wont power on either.
